Show & Tell

The posts on here are a little inconsistent, but will improve with time. For various reasons, I am having to practice the art of patience...let's just say it's a work in progress!!!

So, the Crystal Cave day is nearly here.  The box cards for the goody bags are complete. The rest of my time this week has been divided between the day job, children, a little housework and crafting!

                                                            We have Christmas..........

And birthdays.....

A celebration card..............

And sample wedding favour boxes...............

......but you can't see those yet!

What's your favourite achievement this week?

A work in progress!

I've been a busy bee today.  This morning saw the eldest's footie match cancelled, so we took a trip to cheer his old team on in a cup match, which they won!

We then scooted to a local shopping centre as I had a serious adhesive situation going on..I had none!! Then it was home for food & caffeine, before I could get down to some serious graft.

The Crystal Cave is a week away. I am dividing my time between customer commissions, the Crystal Cave box cards  & stock for my table.

Here is a little taster of some of the boxes I've created...

It's been quite good fun & time effective, using different colours but a similiar theme.

My next piece of work to be completed are samples of favour boxes.
What's your favourite favour? Is it the traditional almonds? Chocolates? Or something completely different? Let me know below!

It's how many days 'til Christmas???!!!!

So, here we are, in an Autumn season that could sometimes be mistaken for winter.  During the 'summer' months, instead of purchasing mix and match bikinis for my holidays, I was searching for Father Christmas and snowman embellishments to attach to my Christmas style box cards!!

We have not yet reached Halloween or Bonfire Night, but already my diary is filling up with Christmas themed selling events, as well as the work's Christmas lunch. My eldest has begun his present list in earnest and I am secretly fretting because I haven't started my Christmas shopping yet. Am I the only person who feels like time is running away and that Christmas is starting earlier each year?

Please tell me I'm not alone in this.....please??!!!!!

Box Cards, Reiki & Crystals!!

Box Cards, Reiki & Crystals??? Possibly not a combination you would expect on a crafty type blog! Bear with me...a wonderful friend of mine, Julie, is a reiki practitioner. I have been to her for treatments at difficult times. The release I felt afterwards is indescribable.  Julie is based at a fantastic centre in Birmingham.  Approximately 3 or 4 times a year, Julie & her husband also hold their Crystal Cave event there.

I've been very lucky in that Julie has invited me to sell my box cards & handmade decorations at the next Crystal Cave on 21st October 2012.  Julie has also commisioned 25 box cards to go in her gift bags.  These gift bags are so well renowned amongst regular attendees, that a few asked if they could reserve their gift bag to avoid disappointment at the last event!!!

I'll be making a variety of styles of box cards for the Crystal Cave. This pic shows just a few of the components!!  Part of my intention is to reenforce Julie & Clive's event name.

It will also be only the 2nd time I will showcase my handmade decorations.  These red hanging hearts with gingham bows are the 1st ones I made....

Stuart Morris has a facebook page for the Birmingham Holistic Centre where you can find details about the Crystal Cave. If you would like to connect with Julie, please ask me for contact details.

Reiki makes me realise how little time out I take to relax. What will you do that's for YOU today?

Have a happy heart day!

Toe Dipping!

So hello! Thank you for dipping your toes into my brand new blog, as I dip my toes into creating one!

In May this year I registered as self employed (alongside part-time employment) and from there, my little crafting venture began to grow.

Like many other crafters, I've always found myself  'dabbling' in various craft fuelled activities. I love finding pretty papers, coloured buttons & fab textures. I have found myself experimenting with various styles and skills including embroidery, hanging hearts & Christmas decorations, crotchet & dress jewellery. I have so many ideas but I am trying to pace myself! I can't wait to introduce new goodies to my crafting selection in the coming months.

The main thread of my business so far has been box cards.  I've found those incorporating material have been very popular....

General consensus on my facebook page was that this card would be most suitable for a wedding. What do you think???
